“Biz a\u015fa\u011f\u0131da imzas\u0131 olan akademisyenler, fikir ve ifade \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc ilkesine ba\u011fl\u0131y\u0131z ve bu ilkenin akademik ya\u015fam\u0131n temel unsuru oldu\u011funa inan\u0131yoruz. Bu temelde, \u00fclkedeki \u00e7at\u0131\u015fma ortam\u0131yla ilgili ki\u015fisel de\u011ferlendirmelerimizden ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z olarak, siyasi iradenin ve Y\u00d6K’\u00fcn \u00e7ok say\u0131da \u00fcniversite mensubunun imzalad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u201cBu su\u00e7a ortak olmayaca\u011f\u0131z” ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 bildiriye kar\u015f\u0131 g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi tepkiyi yanl\u0131\u015f ve kayg\u0131 verici buluyoruz.<\/p>\n

\u0130fade \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc olmadan demokrasi olmaz. \u00dcniversite ve akademisyenin g\u00f6revi ak\u0131l y\u00fcr\u00fctme ve vicdan muhakemesi sonunda vard\u0131\u011f\u0131 fikirleri toplumuyla payla\u015fmakt\u0131r. Fikrin ele\u015ftirilmesi demokrasinin, fikri ifade edenin cezaland\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 ise otoriterli\u011fin niteli\u011fidir. Akademisyenlerin \u00fclke sorunlar\u0131yla ilgili dile getirdikleri g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerinin siyasi irade taraf\u0131ndan cezaland\u0131r\u0131lmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131, akademik \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fcklere darbedir. B\u00f6yle darbeler her\u015feyden \u00f6nce toplumsal geli\u015fmeyi durdurur.\u00dclke demokrasisine verilecek en b\u00fcy\u00fck zarar, fikri s\u00f6ylemek de\u011fil, fikri ifade ettirmemektir”<\/p>\n
